Are Too Many People Dependent On The Government For Cash Payments?

   Sometimes that’s all someone has to survive, like when someone retires and they don’t have that much in their 401K what are they supposed to do? be homeless?
   Also, people who do not make enough to buy their own food so they use foodstamps. I think that foodstamps are a good thing because some people do not have a perfect job to buy enough groceries for their family to not starve.
   If someone is mentally challenged and cannot work that isn’t their fault so they have to rely on the government for assistance, it’s not their fault that they can’t work and make their own living. Think about it, if you were born with a disability that stopped you from working how would you make a living?
   I think that we should keep the social security act because some people really depend upon it to live. Like kids now if they have a job they complain that the money is being taken out of their paycheck to pay for the social security but when they get older they will probably depend upon it to make a living, and if they take social security out then the government will be even worse because people will start becoming homeless and when someone gets laid off of work, how will they make a living?
   Sorry if that didn’t help, it’s just my views upon the whole situation, if that’s what you were talking about.

   Actually yes. Studies have shown that it is the middle class that receives a major portion of government largess. Medicare, Social Security, Earned Income Credit, The Federal Government Hot Lunch Program in the schools. Middle Class Americans scream bloody murder about taxes and government until someone starts to tell them what’s going to get cut then it is “silent running’ all the way around.
