Hi everyone.
I have been selling wrist bands, just the rubber ones. First I used Paypal. They shut my account down even though I sent them all my documents, same with Google Checkout. Although that was worse, I sent them the documents and they sent me a message to say my account had been reinstated and APPROVED. Then I took one payment, and I got a message from them to say my account had been closed. An absolute joke..
I have been using just simple bank transfer and Moneybookers.. I’ve also signed up to AlertPay.
Can anyone recommend a good place to send/receive payments from, also trusted as my customers will need to sign up so they will want assurances..
Please base the answers on how quick to set up, how easy to verify (I got all the info all these sites want) and how user friendly it is.. Also, the fees etc..
I’m from the UK, I appreciate all the help any of you can give me, thanks!

Hi Liam. If you are looking for an alternative to PP in the UK then your only real options are Nochex and Worldpay that both offer a combined merchant account plus payment gateway. I work for Nochex so am clearly biased, but I like to think our product is quick to set-up and we aim to give a decision on all applications within 2 business days. Your customers won’t need an account to make payments with Nochex. We charge a £50 set-up fee and charge 2.9% + 20p per transaction. We don’t charge monthly or annual recurring fees. Oh and we are from the UK too, based in the heart of Yorkshire. I do hope this is of help to you. Kind regards, Peter
You haven’t said why they shut you down?
You have pretty much listed all the major ones so whatever the reason I’d try and get round that and try again with Paypal, or moneybookers etc
