You can go inside the bank and make a withdrawal for any amount you would like face to face with a teller. And by saying any amount you would like, that assumes the funds are available in your account. Depending on your debit card’s spending limits, you may or may not be able to take it from an ATM. Very basic checking accounts usually only have a daily ATM limit of anywhere from $500-$1000. I agree with what a previous poster commented. I recommend that you get a cashier’s check (also known in some places as an official’s check). If that person will not take a personal check, they should still take a cashier’s check, because it is not from your personal checking account. A cashier’s check is drawn on a banks account, therefore can be easily verified. If the person/business you are making the purchase from is uncomfortable with accepting a check, let them know they can call the bank and have the check/funds verified!
As Kevinmac said, yes you can do it.
Be aware that the bank will ensure that you have sufficient money in your account, will ask for multiple id’s, and may compare your signature with the copy they should have on file. They have the right to delay giving you the money, but they rarely invoke that right.
Oh, and you have to be of legal age, usually meaning at least 18 years of age, plus the account must be in your name. If none of that is true, they will insist that a parent or guardian named on the account is there when you withdraw the money.
yes, but its not a good idea. For security, you don’t want to be walking around with 2k in cash. your better off asking for a cashiers check or money order. But if you really need to, as long as you have the money, you can get the cash.
At the bank, yes. At the ATM, no.
ikf you have $2000 in the bank, you can withdraw it
Why would that be a problem? Wow…
