It appears to me that online dealers offer better prices than dealers around here. Has anyone ever gone into their local gun shop and inquired about having an internet-purchased firearm shipped to them there from another dealer? If so, has your home dealer ever offered to match the price of the online dealer.
Having been in business, I know that brick and mortar stores have difficulty competing with online dealers. I would like to get the best deal possible, but I would also like to support my local shops and keep my money locally.
My thought is, that if I was to inquire about having a firearm shipped to them, they would ask what I paid, match it + add the FFL transfer costs that they usually charge. I’d still get the firearm, without having to wait in the mail for it and then have to go through the background check and all of that razzmatazz. my local FFL would get the sale without me incurring additional costs, and my money would support my local economy.
Has anyone ever had this happen?

Just go into your local gun shop and ask them for a price on the gun you want. Compare that with the online price. Just remember that your dealer will charge you a transfer fee (usually around $30) for the online transfer, your state fee will apply either way. Dealers usually don’t charge a transfer fee for in store sales. If the internet price is lower there is no harm in asking if they can match it, the worst that will happen is they won’t be able to.
It is up to the individual dealer. Some resent wholesalers that display prices and won’t do business with them. Other dealers will do it for the transfer fee and they will set that. You still have to go through all the normal checks and waiting periods if applicable. You can usually find a list of dealers who will accept a transfer for you.
The trouble with buying guns online is that it still has to go through a licensed FFL and can not be sent directly to you. I am an FFL in California and can not have anything shipped to me from out of state without my State license as well. In the good ole communist country of California I must also charge you a Dross fee and tax plus my fees for handling the deal and don’t forget the 10 day waiting period. Not sure were you live or local laws but federal law is it has to go through a gun dealer.
Sorry but I dont quite understand……….are you native american?
