How Do I Open A Bank Account?

By pay online Posted in: paypal

I’m 17 years old right now and the main reason I need a bank account is because I’m gonna start an online marketing business. My main concern is how I’m gonna pay outsourcing some tasks using paypal and a bank account and how I’m gonna get paid. Another concern is how I’m gonna receive the money I make, checks? Credit card? Debit card? Withdrawal? Lastly should I open a checking or savings account? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to open a savings account at any local bank. You can likely also open a checking account, but you might need a co-signer (such as a parent) if you haven’t ever had an account or any type of credit before. Just depends on the bank. For business purposes you’ll want a checking account.
PayPal is a good option for accepting payment. You can accept any credit cards and approved bank accounts (checking/debit card) – and PayPal does all the work/verification of the accounts (they do this when the people are setting up their PayPal account) for you so you’ll always get your money. I don’t recommend accepting checks except from people you know, until your business is well established and you have the ability to seek payment on bad checks.

Since you are 17 you cannot open an account with the bank although you could go for a saving account option.

Where are you from? The U.S.? If so I dont think you can have a bank account if your under 18 unless your parents co sign the account meaning the would be the owners.
