I Changed My Credit Card. What Happens To The Payment That I Made (with The Old Credit Card) Via Paypal?

By pay online Posted in: payment

Okay, I’ve purchased goods online and made a payment with paypal. However, just the day after that, I got my gold card. This makes my previous card (the one that I used to pay for the goods) invalid… meaning, I can’t use it anymore. My question now is: What happens to the payment? Did the money go through to the seller? Do I have to remove the previous card from my paypal account, add in the new one and then make the payment again? What do I do? I need an immediate reply and I can’t get through paypal’s customer service via phone. Is anyone willing to help?

getting a new card does not automatically cancel the card it replaces – that card will be good until its expiration date – which might be today – the transaction will still go thru if you paid it before today
It’s still the same account even with two different credit card numbers – if the purchase bounces they will notify you
just add the new card to your paypal acct and in a couple of weeks remove the old one
    don’t freak out so much
