I’m an telecommuting employee working at home on my computer for a Florida-based tour and travel business that maintains no physical office — all of its employees work from home, so the telecommuting is for the company’s convenience. I know that independent contractors have to pay state taxes where they live, but is the rule the same for employees? Please cite the applicable tax codes if possible! Thanks.

absolutely
you are a Calif resident and that state taxes you on income from all sources
you will report this income on your 1040 and the AGI is forwarded to your 540 which will include either wages or Sch C(1099 income)
Well caregive… It wont cost you anything to travel with southwest. I actually found one of their secret sites, ill explain. All companies have beta sites just for promotion for the company. Meaning that they have sites that giveaway free and discounted thing to their customers and its linked to the companies database. I found a secret southwest airlines FREE TICKETS GIVEAWAY! Its sick and actually works. It took weeks to find after hearing rumors that thier actually was one. All you have to do is enter where you want the tickets sent to and 4 days later BOOM they are there. About 10 pages into the order form you can choose you destination. Im assuming these are limited so grab as many as quick as you can. Oh just to let evferyone know its for US residence only. Here it is:
If you live or work in CA, you pay CA state income taxes. You live and work in CA, so you pay CA income tax. Where your employer is located is irrelevant. Next question.
YEP
YOU lived and worked in CA and owe taxes on income earned there
FL has no income tax
You need to determine your tax home
