If It Is Not A Family Issue, But Rather An Insurance Case, Can I File Per Se? If Yes, How Can I Do This?

Iam disabled, can barely walk and do things. I live on social security disability.
I am close to the statu of limitation with several law suits against my insurance company. My house was destroyed by a snowstorm and later a flood. They gave me a very small amount of money at the beginning but they did not pay me anything for all the damages and loses and repairs. They took 300 boxes of things from my house and put them in a deposit. They threw away more than 20 bags of “debris” actually my belongings and they threw them away and pay me nothing for it.
I must go through all the items to know the exact amount of damage. But being disabled I can not do it myself. Then, the insurance company does not want to give me money to hire people so I can do it- they say they will pay me a lump su, at the end- but I do not have any money, and they are waiting for the statu of limitation not to pay me a thing.
I can not afford a lawyer with my disability payments. ($678 a month)
I want to file a request to stop the abuse, so they should give me money to hire a crew of people to help me out to do this task before the statu of limitation, or to put a stop on the statu until I can accomplish the task. I want to file a motion in court.
Please tell me how can I do this by myself?.

the term is ‘pro se’ and I would suggest you contact your legal aide society. You are wasting time hunting around your stuff “to know the exact amount of damage” just estimate it already and file a small claims action with your court or if the amount exceeds the limit of small claims file in whatever court is above the small claims court. You should have done that already. You can easily call or get on the internet and download the forms. Fill them out…estimate the damages…file it….THEN worry about producing evidence.
If folks came into my place and did what you said I’d done sued them. I would also hint around to a claim under the ADA against the insurance company in federal court. Whatever monies you received from the insurance company I would assume followed with a letter or waiver or some sort. You should review all documents to make sure they didn’t screw you or you didn’t screw yourself out of a future claim against them (sometimes when folks agree to pay they include a provision which you agree upon via signing that waives their liability..you should check on that.). First thing first….get online and go to google and type “How to file small claims in___________

They are under no obligation to spend money on hiring a crew of people to go through your things just because you’re unable to do so.

as this is an insurance claim surely there is a pro bono lawyer that will look at things for you………..you will of course be paying them a cut once you get paid out……….
