Okay so last night (around 6:00 PM) I went to my local WalMart (because I had a $50 giftcard) to buy a $50 Visa card. So I did. Once I got home, I got on my computer and knew already what I wanted to spend the $50 on. I wanted to spend it on 50,000 Nexon cash for a game called Combat Arms. This is where all the problems roll in. At first when I tried to spend $30 (30,000 NX) it said their was an error, so I tried again about 1 hour go with TWO $5 nexon (5,000 NX). And it STILL gave me an error. So my friend suggested that I go check the balance of the card. So I did. And when I checked it, it read “Card Balance: $5.00″ so at first I thought it was a screw up. But then I realized that Nexon charged me $45 and never gave me NX, BUT, my friend said it might be Visa just holding my money and waiting for a configuration of the payment. And now, I agree because the Transaction history does say that I bought NX but Visa has not given them the money to give me the NX. So can someone please tell me if it IS Visa or if it’s Nexon. Because I need to know. Thank you.



I do believe that the problem is with Nexon.
Often times when I shop with AMAZON, visa will place a hold on the amount of the item that I ordered and approximately 2-3 days later the money is then transfered to Amazon. Most times the ‘word’ of VISA is good enough for the merchant to relase the item. In this case there appears to be a delay since VISA is already showing that the transaction took place. I have never heard of Nexon so I am not sure what their business practices are, but since VISA has held the money for NEXON it is obviously Nexon who dropped the ball.
With that said, before you get angry with NEXON, if they are a small company, they probably want to be sure that you are who you say you are prior to relasing the merchandise. Suppose *YOU* took my credit card and charged NEXON and Nexon released this code to you immediately. They would be out of the item and the money since VISA would then tell NEXON that *I* did not authorize that transaction.
At this point, my guess that NEXON is trying to make sure that you are the authorized user of the account. Since this account is new (you just brought the card) maybe that is what is causing the delay.
Either way, I would contact them anyway to be sure that everything is fine, but I don’t think that you have much to worry about. VISA can help you if, after a few days, Nexon still has not come thru and delivered what you ordered.
There should be a 0800 number on the back of your visa card. Give them a call as they should be able to tell you almost immediately. Sorry can’t help more than that as I’m in UK to…good luck.
