My phone recently broke and i am having trouble affording a new one with prices so high these days. The only way I could get a new one is by getting a new contract but the other contract is still in use. So I am having trouble understanding how to cancel my contract or add a new one with no payment. Please ansewer back as much as possible and thank you for your feedback.

Check your local Craigslist listings or equivalent in your area. You’ll find plenty of cheap used phones for little cost. People sell iPhone 4′s for around $150 here. So even if you want a high end phone you should be able to find what your looking for for the same price range as with a new contract.

If you do not want to pay anything in order to have a new phone, try applying for a prepaid phone. It is way cheaper than signing up with a contracted phone. I am not sure, but I believe you will be charged of some fees if you cancel your contract. In adding a new line in the same contract or account, there is still a payment. Actually, it still depends on what carrier you are right now.

    Canceling your contract will cost
Getting a new one early might be an option you’ll have to call and ask when you’re allowed to upgrade
Adding a line normally costs an extra $9.99 a month to your plan and will have it’s own two year contract.
Try Craigslist to buy a used phone for cheaper.. some really good deals. Make sure it was used on the same carrier and just take it into the store and they can switch the number over.
