Questions About Braces!??????????!!!! 10 Points!!!?

I’ve asked this question.. & got no answers.
I need braces BADLY. I hate my teeth. I have a gap in between my two front teeth, overbite, & a few other messed up teeth. I’m 15 & still haven’t had them. My parent’s are low on money AND I don’t have insurance! :( I’m military (my dad is retired) but is till don’t have insurance… My mom said I need to find out ALL information if i want to even consider getting braces..So Please read all this
! First of all, Is there something I don’t know about for retired military families? Who should i contact about this? How would the process work? I plan on doing research & phone calls.. But idk where to start!! How much would it cost aprox without insurance? How do we work out payment plans? I don’t have an orthodontist or a dentist.. I live in jackosnville Florida btw. Should i just start calling random dentists? Lol & also, THIS IS IMPORTANT. Do I HAVE to go to the dentist first??? Or can i just go straight to the orthodontist!? Because I know the dentist will cost more.. I don’t have cavities. I take care of my teeth. I just need braces!! How can I find the cheapest price. PLEASE help me!!!!!!! I WILL pick best answer & I’ll be VERY appreciative of any serious answers I get!! I’m getting really desperate! & I have been trying so hard to get a job since I was 13… But NO ONE will hire. I KNOW I will have a Job in October though.. When I turn 16.. but I really can’t wait until then. How long will it be to get braces from the first appointment anyway? Please give me a detailed answer with everything you know(: I’ll love you forever!! <3

    The first thing i would do is do research on the orthos in you area. you can call and schuedule a consultation and they would then tell you everything you would need to know. How much it would be and how long and what they would do. if you do go for a conssultaion and you think there price is to high your not tied into doing it with them, you can try somewhere else. i dont thing that you are going to find out a price without going somewhere first. you do not have to go to a dentist. so research and find some orthos in your area, ask any of your friends and see if they have a suggestions. good luck

    I just got my braces on the 11th of January. Just go to a orthodontist and make an appointment. P.S. I am 11 years old. :( Sorry, I don’t live in Florida, so I don’t know any #’s. In Illinois it’s about $2,000-$6,000 to get them on (depending on how long you have to wear them) ,but you might get a discount since your Dad worked in the military. Because, I got a discount because my dad works at Caterpillar inc. P.S. after you get them on there about $150 a month. ;)

    here in CA (I don’t have dental insurance either), it costs around 2,000 to get them on, then 150 each month for the next two years. The consultation is free, so you can shop around. you don’t have to go to a dentist first, but I’d recommend doing so that you can get a recommendation for a good one (you don’t want to cheap out and have to repair any bad work don’t). You don’t have to make an appt with the dentist, you can just ask for an ortho recommendation.
    Also, you’ll have to go to a dentist every 3 months for teeth cleaning, and pay add’l for any x-rays required. That’s not included in the price.
