real nice!!! So, does anyone know what the process is for when that money will be given back? I looked on my husband’s LES for the 15th this morning after he called me and told me what was going on and, sure enough, they had taken half of his pay check that is scheduled to be deposited on the 15th! I have looked online to see if I could find any info but haven’t been able to really come up with anything as far as an anticipated date for re-payment. Has anyone EVER experienced anything like this?

This happened in 1995 also.
Once it gets resolved, we will get all the back pay.
They have already set up aid programs, check with your NCOIC, First Sergeant or equivalent and they should be able to direct you to help if you need it.
What happened in 1995 was it took two weeks to resolve the budget and the following month had the difference in the pay.
I have trouble believing this since there is no shut down…yet.
I was on active duty during the 95 shut down and my pay kept coming.
I’m calling BS on folks saying their pay stopped in 95. See my link below.
I think we have a yahoo troll campaign here…check the number of folks who signed up on 8 Apr 11 to post this.

Edit: I have confirmed this 1/2 pay issues. My apologies for suggesting this was not true. The new sign up folks had me nervous. It looks like the pay covers up to 8 April. *if* there is no shutdown, the rest of the money will be paid out on the 15th.
PS. LESs come out at the *end* of the month. Folks are looking at their mid month pay advice…not their LES.
I was active duty in 95 when the same thing was being said and nothing happened. The big difference is this time the LES already shows the pay cut and that did not happen before. My husbands command received an e-mail stating that NFCU is going to pay the military the other half of their pay and when the remainder is sent NFCU will keep it. I hope that this is true about Navy Fed and if it is not who is paying my mortgage?
Confirmed… It is really happening. So I wonder if they are going to pay our late fees and charges for not paying the full amount on our bills? : ) Maybe my mortgage company won’t mind me paying them half of the mortgage. Does anyone know who in congress is to blame for this?
My LES was posted today and also cut in half but if congress reaches an agreement before the 15th, we’ll get a full paycheck. If not, we cut into savings and wait till we get that back pay. Either way, it won’t last long.
well believe it “Alex”. My pay check is going to be $300 on the 15th of this month, and it was verified on my LES. Oh, and I am an E-6.
Being paid back is nice but not very helpful when you need the money now to eat and gas money to get to work…

Navy Fed cusotmers will get the full pay on the 15th.
ALL earned pay WILL BE PAID as soon as Congress gets it’s act together
We’re on the same boat..my husband’s pay got but a little more than half..not good. Hopefully Congress will resolve this sooner than a year.
