By pay online Posted in: payment

Iam married living in philippines..i have 100% military disability pension (not retired pension..mine is better)..and many good benefits at my disposal and for the education of dependants..My wife wants to enter nursing college here..Iam all for it and excited for her so when we return to Good Ol’ USA someday..(not staying here too long,,want my kid to start school years in USA)
can someone with knowledge,,not someone like MsJvb who has no clue ever what she talking about even if top contributor,,she just bored and answers alot..does not make her intelligent in any matter..anyways..how does it work..does the education pay amount go according to what school and tuition or just a flat monthly or yearly one time paymentor reimbursement for full time or part time enrollment..because iam asking iam sure nursing college here in philippines is alot alot cheaper than in USA..and if a flat rate payment per month./year .it should be based on the tuition of said college and course.amount..not just a standard educational payment allotment for full time or part time dependants student….can someone give me the amount that is given..or does it vary…please do not answer MsJvb..your wasting my time and yours

I’m not really sure about the answer to your question, I don’t know about your benefits, If you have something other than the GI Bill, which it sounds like. But I had to agree with you on MsJVB some people annoy the crap out of me too!

The education benefits for all dependents have changed since 911. It is called post 911 GI bill. You best choice is to go on the VA website as they have the latest information. Or called the VA and speak with them if it is at all possible. i do know that they have a VA office in the American Embassy..

If she does get her nursing degree in the Philippines while it is cheaper it is a different standard of education so therefore she will not be accepted as a certified nurse in the US unless she goes through some more schooling and training.
If she is eligible for education benefits then the best person to speak to is in VA as they will have the most up to date information. It will have to be a school that is recognized by the US as an accredited college/university though to be eligible. That is for the Gi Bill when used overseas which is different from the Education benefits that she could be eligible for when you are 100% disabled. There is the possibility that she might not be able to use it there and only be eligible in the US. But as stated the VA will have the best information for you on this.
Another poster mentioned the transfer with the 9/11 GI Bill that would have only been an option if you were Active Duty after August 1, 2009 and had been in for 10 years.
