Would my dad (who has suntrust) be able to wire me $500… to my bank (credit union)? Receive it on same day? Does it cost anything? Guessing this would be better than using western union or moneygram?
If so, how would he do it? Would he need internet or just call the bank(s)?? Let me know if any additional info is needed, will check back often today.
Thanks for the help. Pretty worried and confused.

And make sure your dad wires it to the name that appears on your driver’s licence or whatever piece of id you intend to show. on top of the numbers the other mentioned, make sure he gives the correct mailing address of said bank. the more info the better, some banks are sticklers for the little details. And the standard rate 20 + dollars, depending how many banks (hands) it has to travel through to get to yours.
Given that he has never wired money before, they might want him to come in to wire the money. Normally, this should be resolvable with a phone call and a faxed signature though.
Why don’t you call his bank and ask them? They are the only ones who can tell you how they handle wire transfers.
I do it all the time it does depend on bank but usually takes 15 min and all u do is give ur dad your acct # and u will need to call your bank and get aba # for transfer….some banks charge $15 ..and some nothing. Goodluck
Standard bank Wire transfer. Probably about 20 bucks and a few hours depending on the bank and the time of day, day of the month.
He’ll need your bank account routing number
