on the next line of the monitor, it said…fs online money…..the groceries cost over $200 and the cashier gave the woman $88 in cash. What’s that? I realize that we help pay for food, but what was the $88 for? Do we give them cash as well?

The other day I was at the supermarket and I tried to read someone else’s monitor, and I couldn’t. They tilt the screens so only the packer, cashier and shopper know what’s going on.
So I tried sitting down on a bench across from a register, and I couldn’t see it clearly.
You must have done some very un-subtle rubbernecking to see that.
Which leads me to believe you have a problem, being so nosy isn’t healthy, even as a taxpayer, which I am too, I’d find spying on other peoples monitors to be going a bit far. And you must have been spying because how could you tell the woman was using an EBT card before she took it out?
Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system in the United States that allows state governments to provide financial and material benefits via a plastic debit card. Through EBT, a recipient uses his/her EBT card to make purchases at participating retailers. Food-stamp benefits can only be used to purchase food items authorized by the USDA’s SNAP program. Cash benefits may be used to purchase any item at a participating retailer, as well as to obtain cash-back or make a cash withdrawal from a participating ATM.
the woman probably has cash assistance and food assistance. I don’t know what state you are in, but in Minnesota the food and cash assistance go on the same card and it works like a debit card if you have cash assistance, the option to get money back will show up if you have funds in your account.
WE ….don’t give them anything….
ebt users have to be employed or enrolled in a job search program so they are paying taxes and before needing welfare worked years paying taxes and paying in to the system. so now they are cashing in on the portion they originally paid in to the system over the years. our puny tax deductions couldn’t supply one bag of groceries.
why dont you mind your own business? Did you get her pin number too?
EDIT: So as a tax payer i can spy on my neighbors? I don’t think so, thats what they do in north Korea and nazi Germany. I mean who looks to see what credit card someone is using? I would have had something to say to you if you were watching me like that
I am having a difficult time believing your story, sorry
If he is a tax payer, it is his ******* business ingsoc1
