   Although this is not a question, one needs to consider what exactly they’re getting before ranting off the deep end.
   To those who compare XBL to the PSNetwork, and the Wii Network, STOP! Just take a closer look at what you get from MS and XBL compared to what you DON’T GET from the other guys. When you break it down, we’re talking about a measly $5 extra per month. And as we all know there is NO REASON for anyone to EVER pay retail for XBL Gold Subscriptions. As I type you can go to buy.com, amazon.com or even walmart.com and pick up a 1 year gold sub for less than $40. Even after the hike you’re still looking at $39-$45 from the online retailers. On top of that…Walmart blows out 12 month subs twice per quarter for only $30/year. I understand that most won’t use the additional features including On-Demand ESPN and Kinect/3D etc. and they should probably implement a 3rd membership tier, but if you ask me, the sheer amount of stuff provided via XBL is well worth it.
   Also keep in mind that for 7 years Microsoft has added and added and added content to the XBL service, yet NOT ONCE did they ever increase the fees associated with a subscription. In my book it’s about time they did.
   In my opinion, paying to play and take advantage of all XBL has to offer is WELL WORTH the stupid $40/year. If you don’t feel the same you should probably downgrade to the PS3 or Wii.

   My first response when I saw this was wtf. Sony doesn’t charge anything so I really doubted they would rise their price. Then I started thinking, well maybe they are gonna add something cool in Nov that will make it worth the extra money. So I will wait and see. I’m gonna buy a 12month card before the price hike, maybe two if I see a good deal so the price change won’t make a difference for another year or two for me.
